Dangerous cycle path crossing A417 by Lockinge road with no refuge or crossing facility

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 11:01, Sun 17 September 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A cycle path has been constructed from the new Kingsgrove estate along the side of the A417. It finishes immediately west of the new roundabout that will serve the development once opened. On the southern side of the road, the cycle lane continues on to the minor road to Lockinge and Cycle route 544. On numerous occasions I have used this, on my cycle, during early morning rush hour and on most occasions, crossing the road either entails a wait of several minutes or crossing in the very limited gaps between cars. It is made more problematic because the crossing has to deal with traffic in both directions at the same time as there is no refuge. This poor arrangement greatly reduces the utility of the cycle path and will doubtless lead to accidents at some point. Please consider installing some crossing facility.
