Contractors erected barrier on cycle path forcing cyclists into traffic

Reported via Android in the Current Roadworks category by Dick Wolff at 17:05, Tuesday 12 September 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Contractors on these roadworks have caused danger and inconvenience to cyclists. North side of A44, Eastbound, approaching rail bridge : a barrier has been erected across the new cycle path for no apparent reason forcing cyclists and pedestrians to go into the busy and congested single lane vehicular traffic at right angles. A few metres further along, cyclists can rejoin the cycle lane to use the new ramp down to the canal Sustrans Route 5. The barrier is seemingly pointless and will create a serious danger at night as there is no lighting. (See also comment on the contractors' barriers on the south side of the A44, which creates similar danger, forcing cyclists at right angles into the traffic)
