Confusing speed limit

What is the speed limit on Dunmore Road supposed to be? There are 40 mph signs at the roundabout and a few repeater signs in the first couple of hundred yards, then nothing. From Wootton Road there are no signs, so presumably the 30 limit remains in force until suddenly there are 40 mph repeaters as mentioned above. So what is going on?
