  • The purpose of this request is solely aimed at helping the occupants of no.40 illegally cross the pavement and park in their garden as shown.

  • The occupants that have requested the yellow lines due to the perceived accessibility issues for emergency services were also parking on the same corner up until a week ago! It is only now that they want to use the path (not their dropped curb driveway) to allow them to enter and exit via their front garden easier that they’re raising this request.

  • The person who has requested for double yellow lines on the road outside his property has allowed a van to park outside their property which could cause a hazard. He has extended his garden for his own convenience.

  • The person that has raised this request has only done this for their own convenience, there has been no issues for emergency services to attend for the 25+ years I have lived here and if they use their garage for the purpose it’s there, therefore they’ll be no issues. Delivery vehicles (Tesco vehicle) have no issues getting down the road and are wider than an average fire engine.

  • He doesn’t need to have a drop, curb everybody else down that end managed to get two cars comfortably on the driveway they’ve already got. He’s just being selfish and also if we have yellow lines all of the road where our visit is going to park

  • I also live down the same end of the street and most of us only have 1 dropped kerb with two cars on our drive. The person taking these photos and comments has a bee in their bonnet because the public/communal parking is taken up by multiple cars per household. Unfortunately they are taking it out on the occupants at no 40 who may I add have done their best to take their multiple vehicles off the road to help our street and the parking issues we face. I’ve lived here for 10+ years and the parking issue is currently horrendous and I can also remember a fire engine being unable to get through the parking when our neighbour was flooded. The block of garages could also be used for the correct purpose and perhaps resolve some of the issues the street faces each day.

  • The occupants were parking on the side of the road, on that corner, and down both sides of the street and didn’t raise any accessibility issues then. Now it’s an issue when they no longer need to park there, but need to use the public path to get off their property.

Of course the occupants with driveways support yellow lines because parking doesn’t affect them. Very community focused….

The garages only house one vehicle, so would not solve the parking issues when each home has more than one car, as most of us are working professionals.

They’ve raised access issues, but again there are no access issues when they have a visitor. See pictures of the huge van parked on the ridiculous yellow lines they’ve drawn.

  • You’re quite right, they shouldn’t need a drop curb. All the houses with two cars parked on the drive way only have a drop curb for one car. The second vehicle accesses the driveway by going up the curb and in. This is what number 40 were trying to do but a certain household were parking in such a way to prevent them from being able to do this!

  • We had an access problem last week someone park in the entrance to the garages so we could not get to park in our garage that evening

  • You can’t just decide that you own the public highway of front of your house because it’s blocking(inconvenient) the access to you parking in your garden. They already have sufficient access. They can freely use their current drive way to access parking in their garden. So that says to me the main issue is the inconvenience of them having to move their own cars on and off their own drive way to gain access into their garden.
