Pavement protrusion hazard on Seacourt Road

Virgin media cable duct protruding excessively and dangerously out of pavement and has caused damage to pavement. Live cable is out of the ground at pavement level. Nothing is protecting the public from contact with the live wire. A cone has been inadequately covering the protrusion for over two years and is regularly displaced. Condition of the pavement damage is a slip and trip hazard.

Thank you for your enquiry. I have read this report and assessed the issue that you have identified. This issue unfortunately, doesn't meet our current immediate intervention criteria, under our Highway Safety Inspection Policy, so I cannot arrange a prompt repair. It was placed/logged onto the list of Minor Civils jobs that will be assessed for inclusion in future programmed works, subject to there being no conflicting works and sufficient funds. I am therefore closing this report. We will continue to monitor this site during our routine inspections.
