Loose and loud

Reported via desktop in the Manhole category anonymously at 11:11, Mon 14 August 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The manhole cover here seems to have come loose around 3-4 weeks ago. It now makes an extremely loud noise every time anyone drives over it - which is very regularly during the daytime. This is disturbing to people living nearby and has woken me up in the night. I assume it could be dangerous too as the cover is obviously not tightly sealed and could be discplaced.

  • Ps, it's possible there is a second manhole cover or drain cover with the same issue a couple of metres away closer to the traffic lights and junction. Both should be checked.

  • The constant noise from the two drains, both outside my flat, are having an affect on my sleep and also waking up my daughter throughout the night. She is 3. Please can someone get these checked

  • This is one of the manholes making the noise when it's driven over. It is very loud and keeps us up at night also.

  • FYI - there are definitely two of these causing issues, one either side of the entry to St Mary's, within 10 or 20 feet each way. They are both on the St Mary's side of the road and causing considerable noise.
