Flooding to the road

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 17:09, Saturday 5 August 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This flood has often been present during winter months and various attempts to reduce it have been undertaken over the years. This year however it has been present practically all year and it must be time to make a permanent solution. I suggest the felling of a couple of trees and excavation through the roots to allow the water to drain into the local field. As well as being a great inconvenience to traffic and walkers alike, I believe it is also a health hazard due to the leachate from manure stockpiled in the adjacent field. I know that cyclists have fallen off their bikes into the flood due to hitting potholes in the road that are invisible.

  • This is definitely a health hazard, the water is full of manure draining from the field to the north of the flooding. Walkers are unable to walk along the road and have to divert into the farmer’s field.
