No island bollards

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category anonymously at 15:06, Thu 3 August 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Some months ago I reported that these new islands (chicanes) had no fluorescent bollards, this has been rectified on two of the three islands but the one closest to the airplane roundabout only had temp signs put in place. These are still here and often not upright. Can the correct bollards be fitted please.

  • Dear Mr Syme,

Our Site Inspector has emailed and spoken directly to Persimmon Homes and their contractor MV Kelly several times about the island. We believe the bollards and the mounting system are going to be repaired shortly. Our Site Inspector will contact Persimmon Homes again today and stress the urgency.

    Kind regards

  • So I reported this Aug 3rd, over 3 months later still nothing has been done and we are now into the dark mornings and evenings of winter again. I have included photos from today of the other two islands on this stretch of road and as you will see all three now have bollards missing. If nothing is done soon someone will have an accident and be claiming from the council for compensation. How about painting the islands with fluorescent yellow paint then at least we could see them. This should NOT be still a problem after all this time. Someone needs to report MV Kelly for failure to comply with highway regulations and threat of removing their licence to do highway work. Maybe that will spark them into life but somehow I doubt it.

  • So here we are in January and still only temp bollards. Why can't these be fixed with the correct fluorescent bollards. Send me the bollards and I will do them for you!
