30 mph signs in Water Lane

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 20:07, Thursday 20 July 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Two 30 mph signs have been newly erected this morning the 20th July, placed immediately in front of my property visible from my lounge window, obscuring the vision across to Bloxham. This sign could have been placed anywhere in Water Lane as the village boundary goes to the bottom of the lane where it becomes a bridleway. If it is needed in this vicinity please move it five yards to the north so that I do not have to look at it or beyond to south of the field access. There are advantages in not having a restriction sign at all as the lane is used mainly by school children and walkers and keeping it at 20mph would make sense. The residents of the 3 properties are the only car users of this lane other than their visitors. It is a pity that I was not consulted with the proposal before its erection which would have been appreciated. I was at home all day and was not aware of the work being undertaken. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. Nigel Buttler
