Overgrown verge - dangerous

The verge is extremely overgrown and cars coming along B481 cannot see traffic coming onto the road from Highmoor Farm/The Old Barn/Highmoor Stables etc - there have been a number of near misses recently. Cars coming on to the road at that point cannot see what vehicles are approaching or gauge their speed. This has been a problem for the last few weeks. Very dangerous. Please cut back the verge as soon as possible.

  • Landowners and occupiers are required to trim any hedge on their property that is next to the public highway where the growth is preventing the passage, or affecting the safety, of the highway user. In this instance the highway does appear to be obstructed  from full use. The land/property owner will be contacted and if action is not untaken we will follow up accordingly.
