New road surface on dual carriageway

Reported via mobile in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 13:15, Sat 24 June 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The last time the dual carriageway past Bix village was repaired the surface was changed in the area around the entrances to Bix Village on both sides of the road. One of the reasons was that, on the advice of a local road construction expert,a particularly hard surface where water could lie was an additional danger at this junction. One of the benefits of this for local people was much quieter road noise which we all appreciated. This new surface is very noisy indeed.Although there is a 40mph restriction cars and motorbikes fly up this road often at60/70 miles an hour.I understand that there are significant financial restraints but it would be very much appreciated by at least local residents if the previous surface could be reinstated in that area. There has recently been 2 fatalities just further up the road.
