HIGHWAY Manhole cover loose

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The cover marked “HIGHWAY” is loose and bangs loudly when driven over. The noise nuisance is considerable as the road is very busy. This is a repeated report as I would like to highlight that despite Mr. Rooney’s explanation that not all faults can be repaired owing to lack of funds or not the Council’s problem, it appears that it is a “HIGHWAY” manhole and still a significant noise issue for the houses on the corner. Additionally, I would like to understand the liability if the manhole cover breaks and one of the many S6 buses topples over going around the corner and impacts on the houses; who pays for the repairs? Having logged the faulty manhole cover to the Highways team, presumably the liability is with the Council? Please re-visit this investigation and allocate the resources to repair it.
