Massive tailbacks on A4074

Reported via mobile in the Current Roadworks category anonymously at 18:15, Wednesday 7 June 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The new four way traffic lights at the roundabout south of Wallingford going towards Streatley are causing a massive traffic issue in the area. The traffic is backing up on A4074 over half way to Woodcote and in the opposite direction towards Henley. There is no alternative route as the road is closed at Streatley. Children trying to get to their GCSEs and A levels at school in Moulsford are finding it almost impossible to get to their exams because the roads in the area have been so severely restricted.

  • Traffic lights have been turned off for now, but at around 5:00 traffic backed up all the way to Benson. Worst I've ever seen the ring road. Go on the Wallingford matters Facebook group for Google maps traffic screenshots. Reports of it taking 40 minutes to get through. That being from Benson to the winter brook roundabouts.
