Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I have been given this contact address to explain my concerns regarding a large oak tree bordering our property. After discussions with Cherwell, Parish and Oxfordshire councils, whilst initially no-one claimed ownership, it was decided that it actually was owned and therefore the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council. We are very concerned firstly by the high-tensile wires passing through the tree. At this time of year, when the tree is in full leaf, it will be considerably heavier. It is directly on our border, therefore overhanging a considerable amount over our property. It has already lost some sizeable branches onto our property. Luckily not causing any damage as yet. I did have an arborist visit and look at the tree for his opinion and his concern with removing branches overhanging our property, would be that the tree that size would become unbalanced. Unfortunately it does lean slightly toward the road. It overhangs both the road and the footpath. Our other concern is that it's secretions are falling heavily over our gravel drive (newly laid). The stones have become so sticky that they attach to the tyres of our car, taking the stones onto the path and road. This isn't a small area by the way. Our cars are also having to be washed several times a week, to avoid damage to the paintwork. Everything in the front, waste bins, house windows, are extremely sticky, covered in the secretions. This is quite a big concern for us.
