Public footpath cycle dismount posts broken
Reported via mobile in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 07:14, Tue 6 June 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The three wooden posts on entering the public footpath from Makins road cul de sac 50-60 props have rotted and broken off from the path. Although reported previously cyclists never follow the sign “Cyclists Dismount” . Recently a cyclist coming from the path into Makins rd nearly missed a car reversing in the cul de sac circle and continues to present a hazard to pedestrians especially the elderly/ small children accessing the path. The entrance as hedges to block the view of the pedestrian and cyclists racing down the pathway. The other end of the path has three metal posts why have these rotten posts been replaced to make cyclists dismount. Three Metal posts are requested staggered with one post in the Center to slow down speeding cyclists. Dog walkers and pedestrians use the footpath and cyclists need to respect this is not a deviated cycle lane for them only but needs to be shared.
