Pedestrian Signal Delay

Reported via mobile in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 13:56, Sunday 4 June 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The traffic light timing is completely out of sync. You can press the pedestrian stop button and wait 3 minutes for the lights to change. Priority should be to pedestrians and not traffic.

Updates

  • Thank you for recently contacting Oxfordshire County Council regarding the Bath St/Stratton Way pedestrian crossing. Due to its location, the operation of this crossing is linked to the nearby signalised junctions (Ock St/Stratton Way and Stratton Way/Vineyard) and is the reason why the maximum wait time for pedestrians is higher than usual. The maximum wait time at this crossing is 60 seconds. Coordinating the signals helps to clear vehicles from along Stratton Way where there are several bus stops which benefit from this. There are no current plans to change the operation of the signals but we will continue to monitor them.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
