Concrete bollards impeding mobility scooters

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category by John Tranter at 14:48, Tuesday 30 May 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

On the bridge over Letcombe Brook in the Willow Walk Nature Reserve (operated by VWHDC) there are two concrete bollards. The path is an important active travel route enabling quiet, off-road travel for school children and the elderly. A mobility scooter user reports that they were not able to use this path at all because of the bollards. Trying to squeeze through a gap of less than 1m would involve significant risk of toppling into the Brook. LTN 1/20 section 8.3 advises against the use of such barriers and in any case stipulates a minimum gap of 1.5m. I request that these bollards be removed.
