This has been a problem for a while there are bars in the ally / FOOTPATH outside my house to stop mopeds /motorbikes from using the footpath but one has been bent so mopeds can fit through ! Mopeds ( deliveroo riders ) use the ally as a private road to them, my house is in the ally so me and my family have no choice but to use the ally to gain access to my property . The mopeds come up/ down at such a speed they have nearly knocked quite a few people over , my disabled daughter being one of them which has resulted in a very heated altercation between my husband and a driver , well in fact it was a deliveroo driver who barely spoke any English who thinks he is allowed to use the public FOOTPATH as a personal road ! Deliveroo drivers are the worst as all they are worried about is getting to their drop off as quickly as possible even if that means using footpaths and nearly knocking a 14 year old girl who has a disability or a old lady over they use is all through the day and night ! I have also emailed deliveroo but I have had nothing back In my opinion these bars need to be closer together so mopeds can’t fit through or a better solution needs to be put in place to make this FOOTPATH alley safer for people to WALK up /down !

Please can you provide more details about the barriers location as the pin point appears to be in soneones back garden. For example an address or where the Alley runs between and email it to highway.enquiries@oxfordshire.gov.uk and mark it "FAO Oxford Traffic Team". An officer will then be able to visit the site and make an assessment of the situation.
However, I should mention that with the increase in size of many disabled buggies, accessibility standards have changed since this barrier was first installed. As a result we may be obliged to remove it if the inspection finds it to be substandard.

Thank you for your report. We have assessed it and found that it does not currently meet the criteria for intervention, so will not be fixing at this time.
Unfortunately putting any barriers closer to each other will cause accessibility issues to people with disabilities and we have had to already remove some barriers that causing issues for people who need access with with wheel chair user or disability buggies.
If you find these drivers are still causing an issue please report them to Thames valley police with as much information as possible so they can deal with this appropriately. Kind regards, OCC.
