Estate Agent sign on public highway causing distraction at busy junction

Reported via mobile anonymously at 22:11, Monday 29 May 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

Another estate agent sign wrongfully erected at a highway junction on land that is not in the curtilage of the property for sale. The property is half a mile away. It has been there for 4 weeks and I have not reported it before because I had hoped this would be dealt with automatically as I have raised the issue several times. As this is a regular illegal practice would it be possible for the local authority to write to all local estate agents to inform them of the rules and instruct them to stop this practice outside all housing estates throughout Didcot and the surrounding villages? If not then please organise the removal of this sign in the location and all signs that follow. It is against regulations and a dangerous distraction on the highway. Thank you

  • Thank you for your report. We have assessed it and found that it does not currently meet the criteria for intervention, so will not be fixing at this time due to it not encroaching the carraigeway or blocking the view of junctions.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
