Road floods due to two blocked drains (connected)
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category by Mike Page at 17:42, Fri 26 May 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This hasn't been reported, from what I can tell, however for at least a couple years the drains on Drayton Road [B4017] either side of Potenger Way (alongside Hartwell Ford) have been blocked and when the rains come, this particular section of road suffers terribly.
Please can the drains be blasted/cleared?
Thanks!

This drain is clearly still blocked. It was reported a month or so ago and closed out based on it apparently being fixed, but it's obviously not fixed.
It causes a very dangerous massive puddle.

This has not been dealt with roadside gullies in highway are not draining away. It’s not just the gullies but pipe to outfall to river ock that need actioning

Still a problem. Not sure why this council is so inept at responding. What is the point in having a drain if it doesnt work? You're taking the taxpayers for granted.

Still blocked and fills every time there is even moderate rain. Please address this before more rain comes. Not sure why it takes so long...

This is still a severe problem and is going to cause an accident soon if it is not addressed. Especially now it is dark early, cyclists and road users moving to avoid the flooding are going to cause a serious accident if this is not resolved quickly.

Flooded again today due to merely moderate rain. It is also causing horrendous traffic problems on a road which already suffers from traffic congestion.

This morning as flossing was really bad, traffic was crossing in to incoming carriageway in BOTH directions to avoid the flooding.
When an accident happens it will be because people are trying to avoid the flood...it is only a matter of time.

As the other poster has said, this is a serious problem and needs addressing urgently.

Neil Fawcett, can you please take more responsibility for this mess? It has been happening like this for months. You owe the people of south Abingdon an apology

Sunday 12th November, still flooded. Here are the photos I’ve been meaning to upload since I opened this report in May; of course I did so without any rain as I remembered how dangerous this was last year!
As far as I remember, this is (at least) a THREE year old issue!
