Long deep Kerbside mud gully

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:13, Tue 16 May 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

This has been a real problem for about 3yrs because of the lack of parking facilities.,plus the road is so narrow. Its a back entrance for Tenants but it’s now been taken up by White Vans and anyone else who needs to park up.

Council ref: ENQ23961879

  • I agree that this is a significant problem and has created a potential safety risk for children and the elderly, because the mud also gets carried over the footway, creating a trip hazard next to the road. It is also a major eyesore in the street scene. It is being caused by vehicles parking on the opposite side of the carriageway, which then means that waste collection vehicles and other large delivery vehicles can only access the rear of Coromandel by riding the kerb and churning the verge up. In my view the only way this can be reversed and the verge re-instated is through the introduction of a parking restriction (double yellow lines or similar?) on that section of highway to make it illegal to park there. This would mean that any vehicles then doing so could be reported and the carriageway would remain clear for larger vehicle access.
