Temporary traffic lights out of order

Reported via mobile in the Current Roadworks category anonymously at 07:27, Wednesday 10 May 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Pointless traffic lights causing 3-4 mile tailbacks in and out of Thame. 30 min delay in getting to work. No need for this, make sure traffic lights are set up properly before leaving site early. Came past here last night at 4, same issue

  • Miles of queues in and out of Tiddington caused by the failure to set these temporary traffic lights correctly. It's not clear that the lights are even necessary. The contractors should be penalized for causing these delays.

  • Miles of queues from these traffic lights. I sat at the front of the queue and observed that the traffic lights were set to let both traffic towards Thame on the main A418 and those on the side roads joining the A418 in a ratio that only allowed the traffic from Thame to proceed once in 5 changes. If they are really necessary please arrange for the swift correction of these lights.
