Overgrown and overhanging highway's hedge

Reported via desktop in the Grass and Hedges category by Lynnette Fittill at 12:08, Thursday 4 May 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Previous report : ENQ22926499 This overgrown and overhanging hedge is dangerous for all road users, particularly horse riders who have to ride wide in the road therefore being more vulnerable to oncoming or passing traffic. As the road is quite narrow high sided vehicles are scraping along the hedge causing damage and we have also had road range occurrences, one of which was reported to the police. I have previously reported this hedge as being overgrown and as a result the adjacent land owner came out and cut a small amount off the hedge along the kerb-line. This hedge appears to be on highway's land so I believe it is a little unfair to rely on an elderly gentleman, who just happens to own the adjacent land (pony paddock), to take full responsibility. This hedge is directly opposite my house so I have to live with the effects on a daily bases. As this hedge is on highways land please can the department arrange to have it cut. Many thanks Lynne
