Drains x 2 in this area of Letcombe Bassett completely blocked causing flooding across main road through the village

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by David Southgate at 17:17, Fri 28 April 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The problem was reported previously several weeks previously but has not been fixed. Please could you arrange for the drains and gutter along this section of the main street through the village to be siphoned out and cleared to prevent this happening every time it rains. Thank you for your co-operation.

  • Large flooded area again in the same location - leading to overflow down the hillside bringing debris into lake, jeopardising stability of hillside. The drain needs to be cleared URGENTLY!

  • Friday July 14th 2023 - No change in this on going problem. This road is the main road through the village for walkers, cyclists, motorists and all commercial vehicles and deliveries. Please clear the soakaways throughly as it causes a safety issue for all using it and nearby residents. Originally reported over three months ago :-(
