Footpath becomes unpassable in rain

Reported via desktop in the Pavements category anonymously at 10:06, Tuesday 25 April 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

The footpath in Long Furlong park, just before it meets Hillview Road becomes impassable in moderate-heavy rain. This has been the case for several years but it is particularly bad this year: exceptionally muddy, and deep puddles for 3m; requires wellies to go through, or a substantial detour around the whole park. The route is used every day by many families travelling to/from Long Furlong and Dunmore School plus other elderly residents in the bungalows of Hill View Road, so it is a significant problem. Some residents have taken to laying a plank across the mud to create a raised path but these are slippery, sink into the mud and don't solve the problem.
