2 large potholes on apex of bend at Barrowbush barn

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 23:47, Fri 7 April 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

On the bend by Barrowbush barn two large potholes have emerged on the southbound side. As the council has not cleared the grip cuts this bend floods regularly despite having an adequate ditch on the field side. These potholes are therefore covered by water representing a particular hazard for cyclists. This flooding is also the cause of the potholes and the disintegrating carriageway on this bend which will incur extra cost to repair.

  • 22/4 road is not safe with submerged potholes and deep potholes in middle of carriageway on a bend . Additional damage being caused by lying water on inside of bend which would have drained if the cuts had been maintained.

  • 19 Aug - four months on. This set of potholes is getting worse and this road is dangerous. The holes are exactly where anyone cycling north would go to avoid the deep puddle and because they are also full of water they are not visible. This is a basic lack of verge maintenance and repair. There is also a heavy duty cable sticking out of the verge submerged in the water
