Drainage and surface problems

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 09:01, Friday 7 April 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Approximately 25m stretch of roads appears to have the drainage blocked as it never fully dries, this seems to have led to a frankly dangerous amount of potholes, broken surface and impassable parts of the road for normal road traffic, bicycles and motorcycles. This is becoming dangerous and it is only a matter of time until a broken wheel claim or much worse. This is not simply a couple of pot holes and much be fixed. This road is huge by high levels of traffic during rush hour and everytime there is an traffic issue on the A420. Please can this be assessed and fixed as soon as possible.

  • Is there any update on this? It is now awful

  • Two months since these two reports were made and still no sign of any repair happening anytime soon. This now 50 m stretch of dangerously decayed tarmac is worse than ever. Drivers are straddling the opposite carriageway to avoid damaging their vehicles here, just before a double bend. The problems were 'fixed' twice before with inadequate or incomplete repairs. This section of B road will only become safe again when the road drainage issues are resolved as well as a full width and depth of tarmac replacement is carried out. Please don't waste my Council Tax with further failed temporary sticking-plaster solutions.
