Ongoing issue with flooding outside Oakridge Farm on Wood Lane
Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:04, Monday 3 April 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
We are writing to complain again regarding continuous flood outside our property and the erosion of our land next to the road.
We have been raising this issue with you for sometime. Previously we had agreement to fix the problem, then the gentleman concerned went off sick. After this when we raised the issue we were told it was our fault because we had raised the level of the land alongside our fence. We are writing to dispute this and we refute the inference that we are somehow to blame for this and somehow had caused it with the development of our property. We knew this was not the case and that the land outside our property has always suffered from flooding before we developed and after we developed. In fact we can highlight via the deeds of the property that this flooding was happening when we purchased the property as it is stated in the deeds. Also we spoke to a local farmer who has worked at Vines Farm opposite our property for 50 years, he has stated and if necessary will confirm to you directly that this area of Wood Lane has flooded constantly. Instead of aportioning blame can there not be a reasonable way forward before the flooding starts to affect our posts, hedging and fence. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
