Trees outside derelict house blocking footpath

Reported via desktop anonymously at 15:31, Fri 31 March 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

No. 19, Peachcroft Road has been unoccupied for several years and now looks derelict. Conifer trees in the front garden have grown out over the front wall and are blocking the pavement. These need cutting back by the owner/occupier but, as there isn't one, I think the council need to get involved to sort it out. I'd be willing to do it myself and dump the cuttings in the front garden of No. 19, if I had permission to do so, but my preference would be for the council to do it.

  • I meant to add that I have already spoken to the Highways team at Oxfordshire County Council who told me that this issue is the responsibility of the Vale of the White Horse District Council. I rang VWHDC but their answer system (couldn’t speak to anyone) directs you back to the OCC Highways team. Hence I raised this as a Fix My Street to get it on the system. Message for OCC Highways Team - if you believe this is indeed the responsibility of VWHDC, please could you make sure this report is handed back to the relevant department there for them to deal with, i.e. please don’t just close it. Thank you.
