Dip in the road - which water heavy collects / flooding / damp

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:23, Thu 30 March 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

When heavy down pour, even for a brief time or all day - water collects on the road, due to the dip. Floods over the pavement. Then when cars are driving through, the splash amount covers the whole of our businesses (Richard Wilson Long Solicitors) windows, which is now causing damp in our reception office.

  • Hello! 13 The Birches, Goring RG8 9BW I wonder if you might be able to help us! Very recently, better broadband services have been provided for our small estate of houses in central Goring. This has led to the provision of a small box on the pathway for each of the houses. The reason for my writing is to admit, first of all, that our house, unlike all the others, is situated behind a gate and at the end of one of the terraces - we are often overlooked by leaflet bearers and visiting tradesmen - and it is clear to us that no such box has appeared outside number 13!

Of course, I do not want to miss-out on what my good neighbours are receiving and I do wonder if the providers (BT Outreach?) came as far as numbers 12 and unwittingly failed to complete the job.

As its happens, I lost my landline telephone service at the same time. That may be a coincidence and probably was. However, fears persist…..

Do you have the name of of the firm of broadband engineers who have been active here, digging up the pathways and not quite getting to the end of the line of houses where my wife and I happen to live?

I shall then make my own enquiries.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

    With good wishes, Leighton Thomas
