Broken school sign ** previously reported but still not fixed (27/03/23).

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category by Alex Sheldon at 13:52, Monday 27 March 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

School warning sign has broken, post snapped and sign lying in grass by side of road. Previously reported and case considered closed, however the issue has NOT been fixed. See latest photos taken 23rd March.

The absence of this sign poses a SIGNIFICANT RISK TO CHILDREN'S SAFETY for the following reasons:

1. The sign warns traffic of the potential for school children crossing from the school car park, to the school. The car park is not visible until one is very close to it. Thame Lane is frequently used by delivery vans who may not have knowledge of the school and car park - without the sign there is no way of knowing the proximity of the car park.

2. The end of the 30mph zone occurs just after the school car park, with the National Speed Limit Sign clearly visible further down the lane. The visibility of this sign means traffic frequently accelerates towards the end of the 30mph zone, at precisely the location where children may cross the road.

We live next to the school, directly opposite the broken sign, and frequently witness traffic speeding along the lane. THE SITUATION IS DANGEROUS AND AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.

Please fix this sign as a matter of urgency.
