Light pollution, can’t sleep due to street light

Reported via mobile in the Other Lighting Issue category anonymously at 11:06, Friday 17 March 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hi I have recently bought a flat here and the light from the street light keeps me awake at night, along with the road noise it’s difficult to sleep, I have bought shutters to help but the light is strong and it still gets through, I have seen that there are things that can be done to alleviate light pollution , I’ll paste in some notes from they website I was looking at , I’m hoping you’ll be able to help as it’s really affecting me badly (see info below)

The council will have several possible solutions available to tackle your problem, including:

Installing shields to the streetlights (a common solution) replacing the light fitting install dimming technology (an expensive option that would apply to an area instead of an individual light and could ultimately save the council money)

Hi this is some info I found online about things that can be done , maybe a reflector shield ? The lights are an issue at the back of the house too due to the side street but not as bad as the one at the front which is a nightmare , thanks for help
