Road drain blocked causing flooding in heavy rain

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 12:14, Sun 12 March 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The road drain at the junction of Stoke Row road and Stevens lane is blocked with mud. Rain water has nowhere to go so it floods the road endangering vehicles and closing the Stoke Row road to pedestrians. As I have reported and requested many times before the road drainage ditches need clearing out to stop the flooding. However on spite of all the road and fuel taxes paid by the public nothing gets done.

  • This problem has NOT BEEN FIXED. The road is flooded today ans I write and closed to pedestrians. The ditches need to be dug out by a mechanical digger, does OCC roads have such a machine? The level of service and attention this road receives from OCC is disgusting.
