Pedestrian crossing request button not working properly

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 08:09, Monday 6 March 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

After pressing the button at this crossing, it often takes a very long time to change (even keeping in mind it’s a main road) and very often just times out without changing the lights at all. This the crossing opposite the primary school.

Council ref: ENQ23950322

  • Hi there. I know that someone did make an adjustment to try and fix this and it is better but a button request at the crossing still times out quite frequently. I think that, if the button is pressed, the lights should then change. It’s a busy road next to a school and important not to have people getting frustrated and trying to cross without the crossing. I believe the person who made the adjustments kindly said he would change the unit if things were not fixed. I think this is now necessary. Thank you.
