Street light shining into bedroom

Reported via mobile in the Other Lighting Issue category anonymously at 12:39, Friday 10 February 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The streetlight was ‘fixed’ yesterday. Unfortunately the new light is shining into my bedroom and garden and is on all night! Can baffles be placed around this light so that it only lights the footpath rather than disturb our sleep? There has been no working light here for years without issue … we liked it dark. We certainly don’t like the bedroom to be like daylight all night now :-(

Council ref: 4220641

Asset ID: H8

Unit type: Wooden Pole Mounted Light

  • It’s been two weeks now since I raised this problem. This unwanted light is still shining into my bedroom and lighting up the garden all night. It is disappointing to say the least that there has been no communication whatsoever on this matter. Can I ask for a update please?

  • I have now raised a complaint about your complete lack of communication over this matter.

I just want this unwanted light shielded so it is not having such an impact on our homelife … why have you even struggled to communicate on this matter?!
