Road resurfacing dangerous and unfinished

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 22:33, Sunday 5 February 2023

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hi Oxfordshire council,

You recently resurfaced the road at Blake way in Thame (OX9 3XR). The contractor has left the road in a worse condition than when they started and have not returned to finish the job. The surface is now uneven and has started breaking up. Additionally, as the surface has not be laid adequately bikes a sliding on the of gravel on the surface. I am reporting as there will be an accidental as there is a public footpath that leads on the road.

If you want surface pictures please let me know.

Mr J Aird - 5 Blake Way, Thame.

Council ref: ENQ23947668

Updates

  • Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.

  • This report has been closed. However we will contact our Contractors and request an urgent mechanical sweep and a site inspection. With Blake Way being a short dead end it is highly likely that embedment will be slow due to the lack of vehicles passes, should embed over time but could take up to 12 months on this type of road. Regards
