Dangerous cycle path beside Rewley Road bridge

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Today at 5.45pm my 7-year-old son fell off his bike and into the canal beside the Rewley Road bridge. I pulled him out. Luckily he was unhurt, only cold and distressed, but it could have been a more serious accident. He is a competent cyclist and his bike was fully equipped with lights. The path is currently unsafe because brambles have grown over it, forcing the cyclist to one side of the path: please could they be cut back. Other contributing factors to the accident were an absence of lights, and the fact that the railings are so wide that it was easy for my son to fall through them.

I had the same issue today. The bush has grown over the path and there is a very hard branch. I didn't see it and hit the branch with my left shoulder and that pinged me right into the canal with my bike. This is really not safe and bush should be removed.
