Newly constructed junction too narrow
Reported via mobile anonymously at 10:17, Monday 23 January 2023
Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This new junction (to continue on the Shipton Road rather than the housing estate) is too narrow. Oncoming vehicles navigate the junction on the wrong side of the road as a result. This is exacerbated by high curbing installed. Previously the outside of the bend had a soft verge, which meant vehicles could ‘widen’ the space available if necessary.

Dear Mr Hague,
The Section 278 works are yet to be completed. We are negotiating with the Developer when this is to take place. We are impressing on them the urgency that they need to address the outstanding issues. This includes the final surfacing and adverse camber.
Kind regards

Still no improvement. Adverse camber and temp surface doesn’t help, but section of the junction are simply too narrow for vehicles to pass each other. Two cars can do it with accurate driving, but large vehicles have to go significantly over the centreline. What’s particularly dangerous is that it starts out quite wide then narrows part way round its radius. Tall curbs exacerbate the problem.
