Poor surface and no lighting

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 21:01, Tue 6 December 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The surface of the cycle track between Sandhills and Wheatley is noticeably worse than from Headington to Sandhills. This is just about ok when you can see the path but it is not at all okay in the dark...

Why is there NO LIGHTING AT ALL on the track between Sandhills and Wheatley (except by the bus stop near Forest Hill), the WORST section of the track? Why is it that the safety of the many people, including school children, who use this track is considered so less important than those who use the stretch nearer Oxford?

Ideally I would like to see the track widened (so that 2 cyclists can comfortably pass one another at all points), the surface re-done so that it is smooth and the path being well-lit.

This would definitely be a big encouragement to those of us who use that track to use it at all times, not just when it is light enough to see all the trip hazards.
