Flood every time it rains -both sides of carriageway at top of headley way and London road

Reported via desktop anonymously at 22:55, Thursday 24 November 2022

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This junction has flooded completely every time there is a bit of rain. There is nowhere for pedestrians to cross safely and in the dry, the vehicles come round from London rd and suddenly find the road several inches deep in water, with no kerb visible. This photo was taken weds at 8.46, this school boy now has to spend the day in wet shoes. It was the same today at 14.00, 14.15, 17.35 and 18.10. It was the same on Sunday and Tuesday of this week. This junction already has a ghost bike, please sort it asap - I have gone through flooding like this at least once sometimes more times a day this week.

  • This is mainly caused by the council's utter failure to sweep up the leaves from the trees. The leaves that fall from the same trees every year and roughly the same time of year. The leaves then block the drains and cause this flooding. Take a look on the fixmystreet map, there are a dozen or so reports in the last couple days of flooding. The council needs to be held responsible for any damages caused to private property.
