Ruined grass verges along the stretch of the side road. The school visitors and parents use the grass verge as a road not only to park but also to drive across entire stretch. The tures churn up the mud. The grass has not been reserved and has not grown in past year now ut is just a mud plain. It needs reseeding and cordening off to give ut a chance to grow. It must stop cars using this as a car park its dangerous and ruins the tree roots

Its the same selfish ness along Bath Street re John Mason. The beautiful vista of Pine Trees and grass which some people have compared to le Touquet has been totally ruined by these tank driving morons. This land is amenity land for the benefit of Estate Residents not a free car park for selfish incomers! The kerbs have been totally demolished in many instances. How would they like it if we came round their kerbs twice a day and totally ruined them? Many turn up up to one hour before school time and laze around in their cars unlawfully jay parked. Havent they anything more productive to do all day like getting out the car and picking up the litter fag ends and the like they throw out their windows? The traffic cops came once and Ive never seen peep shift so fast so they know they are causing a nuisance.I think some have the vandal mentality and take sick pleasure in it.I understand why LTNs are so desirable

Looking at this National problem more cooly,Ive done research and its a big problem Nationwide. Residents have tried all sorts of things from flower beds to rocks to keep the vehicles off. Some of these are unlawful. At the end of the day the issues are whoever owns the strip of land has a duty to maintain it as green grass.Whoever parks there and detroys it is liable for the expense of mending it. This can be calculated on a daily basis. One takes the number of compressions it takes to destroy such a strip to mud in any given 12' stretch which is probably about 12.Youll find its mainly the same small group of offeders doing this on a school term daily basis. You then estimate the cost of re sowing a 12' stretch of caked hard mud by 3' with premium grass seed, plus covering to keep the birds off,new soil and compost plus time and labour & tools and this is their 'bill'for the destruction!Divided up by the number of vehicles. You can invoice them once a term. They may prefer to PAY for their parking in town? Their rationale appears to be my need to park trumps your need to experience a pleasant grass verge.I dont think they deliberately leave home cackling and rubbing their hands thinking lets go and churn up that toffee nosed estates grass verges but it can seem very much like it at times to residents. It certainly can be construed as disrespectful. It has much in common with that other unlawful mess-littering.
