This continues to be a problem, especially as pedestrians eyes are adjusted to car headlights passing along the A34 and are then plunged into darkness.

Street lights still out as you go under the subway to Southern by pass, very dark and dangerous, been reported since 2018 and nothing has been done

To the person who just posted the update. The Highways agency wrote to me on the 7th Feb stating:
Thank you for your report concerning lighting on the A34.
We’re aware of the lighting problems. A repair is planned, and the work(s) should be completed within 12 weeks.
