Residents of teh cottages in this area are complaining re over hanging trees and Leylandi which have broken in the wind... creating a possible tree fall

  • Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited site and have assessed the trees described in the enquiry.
    The vegetation present appears growing
    beyond the area that OCC maintains and is therefore deemed to be an adjacent
    boundary feature. OCC, as the local highway authority, maintain the HMPE (highway
    maintainable at public expense) from boundary feature to boundary feature. As such
    the vegetation present is maintainable by the adjacent property/land owner, and not
    the county council, to maintain as they wish. Should you require a more detail on this

    During my site visit I did inspect Highways tree which require works. I have instructed our contractors to carry out works to these tree's.
