Left lane southbound on Oxford Road should be left turn to Bicester Road only

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 12:32, Wed 21 September 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

It is dangerous and unnecessary to allow both lanes southbound on Oxford Road Kidlington to carry on past Bicester Road. If an arrow and signage is placed to show the left lane as left turn only to Bicester Road that will allow for smoother traffic flow. If everyone going straight through (or onto the slip to Gosford Hill leisure centre/school) stays in the right lane, traffic is smooth. There is a problem if vehicles squeeze in past Bicester Road. Furthermore, there is current confusion. Some drivers think they are MEANT TO BE in the left lane if carrying on to the slip to Gosford Hill leisure centre/school. This creates additional potential accidents for those in the right lane seeking to access the slip to Gosford Hill leisure centre/school. Therefore, please re-sign this intersection so that the left turn lane is for left turn to Bicester Road only.
