Broken clanging noisy manhole cover AGAIN

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This manhole cover is broken again. It’s a BT cover, they come out numerous times a year and do a temporary repair then the manhole breaks again and local residents are left with noise nuisance and disturbance 24/7. Yesterday the BT engineer came out and advised we also report it to the council as a proper permanent repair requires the road to be shut. The manhole is on a dual carriageway with heavy traffic at all times of day and night and it is not fit for service as it keeps breaking. The noise and disturbance affects Trinity Court, Cedar Court and Between Towns Court apartment blocks. Combined, this is disturbing hundreds of households, hundreds of council tax payers, in the case of the first 2 buildings at least. Many people living in these apartment blocks are shift workers, many are trying to work from home. It is making life extremely difficult to have the constant noise and disturbance. Between the Council and BT an adequate, permanent repair or replacement need to be arranged, because what has been done so far has been a waste of time and money and it has been an ongoing problem for years now.
