Main sewer/surface water blocked

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 08:53, Wednesday 7 September 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Manhole beside war memorial Horspath village green The main large pipe that all the roadside gullies empty into has been blocked, presumably by tree roots from the horse chestnut trees nearby. Because of the blockage all the surface water coming down from shotover forces the manhole cover up , and very large volumes of water flooded out across Horspath road junctions and pond in front of the bus shelter, when the water is up, i.e. during a rainstorm it is impossible for pedestrians to cross the road to the bus shelter without wading through four or 5 inches of water. this is a recurring problem and the tree roots were last dealt with two or three years ago.
