Dangerous pathway

Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I have recently moved to Banbury and I am a Human Factors consultant specialising in human behaviour in health and safety. I couldn't help but raise a serious health and safety hazard in my area. On the queensway there is a co-op shop amongst others and it seems the access point is by walking around the carpark and down a slope. There is an alternate route that is much more commonly used by pedestrians which includes walking over a raised grassed bump, and jumping down a 3ft wall (approximately). It is clear to see as the grass clearly doesn't grow here due to the frequency of pedestrians. As we are coming into the wetter and colder months this area is going to increase in risk for a fall and potentially landing on concrete posing a risk to life at this height. This behaviour won't change and therefore we need to shape our environment to be safer, and in this case I mean adding a staircase or a gritted slope so it is more accessible. Happy to discuss this further Best Nathan Travers
