Road crossing risks for cyclists and pedestrians

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 13:19, Fri 2 September 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Two issues related to cyclists and pedestrians trying to cross the A34 northbound exit slip road at Peartree, crossing from the roundabout to the path that leads to loop farm.

Due to the roadworks it's now riskier trying to cross the two lanes of traffic, with drivers unaware and unsighted of people/cyclists trying to cross from their right across their path. This will get worse as traffic volumes increase when Schools return and nights get longer. Can some form of road markings be introduced to indicate there's a pedestrian/cyclist corridor across the road, to help alert drivers and hopefully keep a clear corridor whilst they are queuing to get onto the roundabout.

Second issue is that the roadworks sign blocks drivers' view of pedestrians / cyclists waiting to cross, as well as forcing pedestrians and cyclists to encroach into the live carriageway to get a clear view in order to cross (please see photos).
