Overly long repiar works

Reported via desktop in the Current Roadworks category anonymously at 09:52, Sun 28 August 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Before August 25th signs were placed in Yarnton Road Kildlington warning that pipework needed to be attended to in the road, for the third time in as many years and which would be closed from 15th August and for twelve days, it has now been closed off for fourteen days and with little end in sight. The main hole has now been covered, but the trench initially dug from the front drive of No 30 Yarnton Road is still open. I have passed the work site on numerous occasions, and have yet to see anyone putting any real effort into finishing the job, I have just passed it this morning, Sunday, and although its recognised as a day of rest, there isn’t a workman in sight. This is a major route from the west of the village to the Oxford to Banbury Road, it is also a major bus route, buses having to be rerouted. There is an alternative route which runs parrel to Yarnton Road, which is Churchill Road, of which the north side of the same road is a permanent carpark, making it difficult to access the main Oxford Banbury Road with traffic towards you heading in the opposite direction, it is also the main route for the COOP delivery drivers servicing the COOP at the end of Churchill Road, the poor access is an ongoing concern, and with five new flats replacing a bungalow in the same road, and with little sign of off street parking, this is only going to get worse.
