Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, the extreme and heavy rainfall of Tuesday evening caused flash floods throughout Cherwell. During these flash floods the surface water accumulates quicker than it can be absorbed into the ground or dealt with by the drainage systems causing the drainage system to be very quickly overwhelmed. The surface water then requires time to disperse.
We have visited this location on, 17.8.22, and found there to be no standing surface water to indicate there are any drainage issues that require immediate action. The carrier pipes in this location have had the tree roots cut out of them with the gullies in this location being last cleared on the 7th June,2022. Unfortunately, during these flash floods, the drainage system does become quickly overwhelmed until the rain eases. This does not mean that the drainage system isn't operational, regards.State changed to: Investigation complete
